LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The second day of the Disney Soccer Showcase at Disney Wide World of Sports just outside of Orlando was a day in which teams began separating themselves and moving into position for a berth in the finals.

GIRLS U16 SHOWCASE RED: SUSA ISA NPL G01 (NYE) 2, SJEC RUSH 01 GIRLS ACADEMY (NJ) 1

Samantha Hogan scored two goals to lead SUSA NPL to a 2-1 victory over SJEC Rush on Sunday in the Girls U16 Showcase Red bracket at the Disney Soccer Showcase.

With the win, SUSA moved into first place in the bracket with six points after winning on Saturday 6-1 over Saltfleet Stoney Creek SC 2001 Black Elite.

Against SJEC Rush, Hogan put SUSA ahead in the first half when she showcased her creative talents by taking the ball from 35 yards out, splitting through three defenders and finishing with a hard shot into the right corner of the goal.

After SJEC Rush scored just before halftime to even the game, Hogan put SUSA back in front when she scored off a crossing pass with seven minutes left in regulation.

"Samantha demonstrated the type of ability she has with and without the ball on her two goals," SUSA coach Ron Alber said.

Alber also praised goalkeeper Nicole Scott and the two center backs, Sydney Moore and Olivia Teng, for stabilizing the defense in the second half and for securing the win.

"Nicole's awareness and verbal communication showed the type of leadership she brings to the field," Alber said. "The combined effort of Sydney and Olivia on the back line was crucial to us winning, as well."

GIRLS U17 BLACK: TRIANGLE FUTBOL 00 ALLIANCE (NC) 3, SPORTING OMAHA FC 2000 ELITE (NE) 1

After trailing 1-0 at halftime, Triangle Futbol 00 Alliance stormed back with three second-half goals to beat Sporting Omaha FC 2000 Elite 3-1. The win moves Triangle Futbol into first place of the Girls U17 Black division with four points.

Alexa Wojnovich evened the game 10 minutes into the second half when she one-timed a perfectly placed cross by Sylvia Soler.

Talia Parrous set up Triangle's go-ahead goal midway through the second half when she carried the ball down the right side into the end line and crossed it waist-high into the path of Erin Dilweg, who neatly redirected the ball into the goal.

Emma Totten added a late goal for Triangle.

Triangle coach Tom Misuraca praised the effort of midfielder Sara Moushegian, who was instrumental in setting up scoring opportunities and for helping the team possess the ball more than Sporting Omaha.

Camacho said the defensive effort of center midfielder Niki Molina, as well as goalkeeper Elizabeth Moberg, were critical to the team winning.

"Elizabeth always does an excellent job in communicating with the team and keeping the structure intact," Camacho said. "Niki is an excellent leader. She was excellent today in possessing the ball and making sure to deliver it so her teammates could do something with the ball."
